The Karmanos Cancer Center's Gershenson Radiation Oncology Center (GROC) is our primary site which treats 100-120 patients per day. In the past year, GROC saw 1167 patient consults, performed 1233 simulations, 108 Brachytherapy procedures and 115 Gamma Knife procedures. The GROC consists of approximately 49,500 square feet and is located on the main campus of the Detroit Medical Center in mid-town Detroit. Patient treatment techniques include: 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy, Tomotherapy, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and Prostate Seed Implant.

The Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center, another Karmanos site, opened in 2001. 
This 18,000-square-foot cancer treatment center is located in Farmington Hills and offers radiation oncology and chemotherapy treatments in an atmosphere designed to provide comfort and healing. More recently a large expansion and upgrade project is in its final stages at Weisberg.

The Charach Cancer Treatment Center at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital (HVSH) is a community-based center providing residents with a broad exposure to disease sites and a radiosurgery service. Kimberly Hart, M.D., residency program site director, is an expert in compliance and helps residents integrate radiation oncology clinical practices with high quality medical documentation.

 The McLaren Proton Therapy Center at McLaren Flint is part of the Karmanos Cener Network. Located in Flint, Michigan, the McLaren Proton Therapy Center features leading cancer treatment technology and expertise to deliver proton therapy with superior precision.This advanced Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS) technology delivers highly targeted, higher doses of radiation to cancer cells while sparing healthy tissue, greatly lowering the risk of secondary cancer, reducing side effects, and resulting in successful outcomes. Our residents work with Christian Hyde, MD as our rotation site faculty member at McLaren Flint.
