Radiation team to present at ASTRO's Annual Meeting
One faculty member and two residents in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Karmanos and Wayne State University School of Medicine will make presentations on their research at ASTRO's 58th Annual Meeting in Boston.
Peter Paximadis, M.D., assistant professor, will do a poster presentation titled, "Dosimetric Variables Predicting for Acute Esophagitis During Definitive Radiation Therapy for Locally Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer - Results of a Large Prospective Observational Study."
Arun Paul M.D., Ph.D., resident, will also do a poster presentation, which is titled, "Dosimetric evaluation of Point A and volume based HDR plans: A single institution study on adaptive brachytherapy planning for cervical cancer."
Mark Zaki M.D., resident, will do an ePoster discussion titled, "Radiation Dose to the Heart and Mortality in Patients Receiving Definitive Chemoradiotherapy for Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer."
