Gershenson Radiation Oncology Center


The Karmanos Cancer Center’s Gershenson Radiation Oncology Center (GROC) is our primary site which treats 100-120 patients per day. In the past year, GROC saw 1167 patient consults, performed 1233 simulations, 108 Brachytherapy procedures and 115 Gamma Knife procedures. The GROC consists of approximately 49,500 square feet and is located on the main campus of the Detroit Medical Center in mid-town Detroit. Patient treatment techniques include: 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy, Tomotherapy, Gamma Knife Radiosurgery, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, and Prostate Seed Implant.
